Moments for Moscow: Epistrophy (V.79-1) A virtuoso solo for harp, employing expert pedalling and complex rhythmic counterpoint. While I was living in Moscow in 2004, I wrote three short pieces for some of my friends. Epistrophy is based, as the title implies, around a simple idea which undergoes many permutations only to then distill back to the original idea, ultimately arriving where it began. The other "Moment" for Moscow is Sketch on a Song of Shelley, for baritone and piano. More info on that piece here. |
