I THINK MUSIC SHOULD MOVE PEOPLE is the way many composers begin their artistic statements, and while I agree, the question composers must answer is how. We write in an infinite language, play in an infinite sandbox, and for that we should all be grateful. But composition goes beyond oneself - as sonic excitations must be perceived by another, any music by its very nature is communicative. We compose the tree falling in the woods whose sound must be validated by another's ears. What we chose to say is up to us. How we chose to say it determines who will listen.
