Do Not Stand at my Grave and
Weep (V.42)
Scored for three part Women's
chorus, viola, cello, Irish tin whistle (flute), and harp,
this is a subtle and straightfoward setting siutable for intermediate
to advanced choirs
from 6 to 36 voices.
After writing An Irish Blessing
in the
same
style and for the same ensemble as In
Flanders
Fields, I decided to bring this series of women's choir pieces
to a close by setting the well known anonymous poem, Do Not Stand at my Grave and Weep.
The
pieces work alone, but in the context of a trilogy, present the
universal themes of challenge, loss, and redemption.
