| Variations (V.115) Symphonic Band Grade III Written for the Bloomfield Youth Band (NJ) A freely moving set of variations on Swing Low, Sweet Chariot in one movement for concert band. Variations focus on different moments in music history, including impressionism, the avant garde, and of course, ragtime. Suitable for middle school or high school ensembles. Scored for piccolo, 2 flutes, 3 clarinets, oboe, bassoon, bass clarinet, 2 alto saxes, tenor sax, baritone sax, 3 trumpets, 2 horns, 2 trombones, euphonium, tuba, and timpani, 3 percussion. approx. 5 minutes |
