| Chit-Chat (V.103-1) An advanced duet for trombone and tuba. Chit-chat was commissioned by a trombonist friend of mine from Moscow who wanted a duet to play with his father, a principal tubist of the Bolshoi Opera orchestra. It is in a concise ABA form, the outer sections fast and rhymically driven and the middle section using an intriguing acoustic technique which I first encountered while playing in Saratov. Other works in this collection include the trumpet Duo-Fanfare, and Quatre, a work for 4 trumpets. |
