| Lyric Pieces (V.66) A Piano suite in four movements: I. Illusions II. A Smile Through Tears III. Consolation IV. Spectre The Lyric Pieces were written as a gift to one of my friends, a composer and pianist, in Russia. It is an original piece, but deeply imbued with homages and inferences (some less obvious than others) to composers and pieces which I was inspired by while writing the suite. I had the honor to premiere Lyric Pieces in June 2004 at the Rachmaninov Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. |
