| Avalon (V.57) Symphonic Band Grade IV Written for the Bloomfield Youth Band (NJ) A exciting concert overture scored for symphonic band, with optional piano. Subtle color shifts and dramatic rhythmic drive power the vivid images of granduer, betrayal, destruction, and ultimately, redemption. Avalon tells the story of King Arthur and the mythical realm of Camelot. A fanfare introduces us to Camelot in all its splendor, and Arthur's theme speaks of a wise, courageous king. An attack comes from his enemy, Arthur is slain and Camelot is burned, but his noble spirit is taken to eternal light-world of Avalon. |
